SPSS Short Course

Data analysis and interpretation of finding are important elements of academic research, and there are many software programs that offer just that. Statistical Package for the Social Sciences or SPSS is one of them.

In fact, SPSS is one of the most common software used in statistical analysis in social science. Its first version was introduced in 1968 by Norman Nie, then a political science postgraduate at Stanford University (SPSS 17.0 is the latest version of this program).

At present, he serves as Research Professor in the Department of Political Science at Stanford and Professor Emeritus of Political Science at the University of Chicago.

Department of Economics believes that a short course on SPSS should be offered in KUIS. The course can be handy for students, especially for those undergoing Degree’s Project Paper.

Hence, the department had decided to conduct the course on 1, 8, 15 and 22 August 2008. All classes start at 2.30pm until 5.30pm at MK7. The course is compulsory for the following groups:
a. BBAEC Final year (Batch 1, 25 students)
b. BBAEC and BHRM Semester 5 (Batch 2, 22 students)
